New to Bikram Yoga? Welcome and thanks for starting your practice at Bikram Yoga Takoma Park.  Here is the basic information you need to know to get started: no previous experience necessary, no flexibility needed, no appointment or reservation required.  Finish eating whatever you eat 2 – 3 hours before class starts. Hydrate well throughout the day. Classes start on time, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.  Wear something cool as if you were going to the gym. The studio lobby opens 30 minutes before every class. We expect all yoga students to be in the yoga room before class starts.  Read here for detailed information on how to prepare for class and what to expect.






Bikram Yoga is a therapeutic 90-minute series of yoga postures that improves flexibility, strength, and balance of the body and improves mental clarity and focus.  It is practiced in a heated room (105 – 110 degrees) that warms the muscles and joints, improves circulation, detoxifies the body through sweat, and significantly reduces the risk of injury during stretching. Where to Park!
Come Early and There is Never a Problem Finding Parking!


1.  Takoma Park City public parking lot located adjacent to TPSS Co-op, across the street from the studio.  There are always open spots in this parking lot.  Parking is for 2-hours and you must pay to park.

2.  There are 6 designated parking spots in the lot directly behind the studio.  Entrance is off Lee Avenue.  Spots fill quickly.

  ONLY park in the spaces designated for Bikram Yoga.  DO NOT park in any space that is not designated for Bikram Yoga even if it is empty.

3.  The parking meters directly in front of the studio are 1 hour meters.  You can park at these meters if you are taking the 6PM class.  Make sure you pay the meters or you will be ticketed.  These meters are monitored closely and daily by our friendly residential neighbor across the street from the studio and she will call the police to ticket. 

4.  There are 4 two hour meters directly across the street from the studio.
